Lent 2026
In the Penitential Season of Lent, by prayer, fasting and almsgiving, we seek to bring ourselves closer to the Lord. The Stations of the Cross, as in previous years, will be prayed on the Fridays of Lent together with our Anglican friends. The next one is at 7pm on Friday, 20th March at St Andrew’s.
Laetare Sunday
Sunday, 15th March, is Laetare Sunday. Please try to come to Mass wearing something rose in colour.
Funeral Service
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Donald McMillan who has died recently. The funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, 17th March at 1:30pm. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
Knights of Saint Columba
There will be a meeting of the Knights on Tuesday, 17th March at 7:30pm in the Marian Room at St Anne’s. All men of the parish are warmly invited to attend.
School Mass at St Anne’s
On Thursday, 19th March, to celebrate the feast of St Joseph, there will be an additional Mass at 9:30am at St Anne’s with the staff and students from our primary school, St Anne’s & St Joseph’s. Requiem Mass

Easter Flowers Collection
On the weekend of 21st and 22nd March, there will be a collection after Masses in both churches for Easter flowers. Please do give generously so we can make the churches look wonderful for Easter.

St Anne’s Ladies
Our next meeting will be on Monday, 30th March at 1pm in the Marian room at St Anne’s. We will be observing the Stations of the Cross followed by afternoon tea.
