Mount Carmel was inspected by Ofsted on 25th and 26th November, 2025. The report confirms that the school has many strengths and much to be proud of. Well done to all the staff and students at Mount Carmel. The full report is available here.
Wedding Congratulations

St Anne’s Ladies
Due to the bank holiday, our next meeting will be on Monday, 1st June. Further details to be confirmed.
Mothers’ Union
On Tuesday, 2nd June, we welcome our Anglican Friends and members of the Mothers’ Union who will be using St Joseph’s Hall for their annual Festival.
Deanery Station Mass
This will take place on Thursday, 5th March at 7pm at St John’s Church, Padiham. The celebrant will be Bishop John Arnold. All welcome.
Friendship Club
On Wednesday, 3rd June, the Club will meet at Oswaldtwistle Mills for a three course lunch. We will be entertained by the dynamic, female vocalist, Saskia Starkie. Members should aim to arrive by 12pm when drinks will be served before lunch at 12.30pm.
Healing Mass
The next Mass for healing with anointing of the sick will be at 12 noon on Saturday, 6th June at St Anne’s. Exposition and confessions from 11am. Let us hold in prayer all who are sick. All welcome.
Sacramental Programme
The next meeting for the Sacramental Programme will be at 6pm on Monday, 30th March in St Anne’s Church.
Chrism Mass
This year the Mass of the Sacred Chrism will take place at St Patrick’s Church, Collyhurst on Wednesday, 1st April at 11am. Light refreshments will be available after the service. Corpus Christi
To celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi the deanery are holding an outdoor procession of the Blessed Sacrament. The procession will take place on Sunday 7th June at 3pm at St Mary Magdalene’s Church, Gawthorpe Road, Burnley, Lancashire BB12 0JP.
